Resilience and Sustainability Resolution for All to Thrive in Loudoun County
A Statement and Call to Action
Keep Virginia in RGGI
We oppose efforts to remove Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative
Mission
We support scientifically informed understanding of climate change to influence personal choices, and promote the development of
a resilient local economy based on environmental stewardship.
The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.
The infamous words of polar explorer Robert Swan are as relevant in Loudoun as they are in the Arctic. Let’s lead the nation in America’s fight against climate disruption. Our combined efforts can make a difference.
Think Global, Act LoCo
At Loudoun Climate Project, we’re looking for local solutions to global problems. Did you know that Loudoun County has one of the highest concentrations of data centers in the country? Data centers in Loudoun use over 5x as much energy as residences do. Loudoun is also home to the 6th largest greenhouse gas emissions source in Virginia, the Panda Stonewall Power Plant. Loudoun can do its part to lower its contributions to climate change by sourcing more of its energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind energy so that it can reduce it’s fossil fuel use, and greenhouse gas emissions.
